Life is real, life is great! There are a thousand and one varied activities to keep you contented and happy. One could spend the rest of his life enjoying the many symphonies, operas, operettas, that have been written for your enjoyment. How many of you are familiar with enduring compositions of Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert? When you Visit a large city, attend a band, glee club, or symphony concert. If you don’t enjoy it, I’ll refund your money. Perhaps some of you would like to play a trumpet, saxophone, violin, or piano. It’s not impossile. These instruments can be purchased for a very reasonable price.
The space of this entire newspaper could be used to list the good books and poems that have been written for your enjoyment. Read the interesting narrative stories of Hawthorne, Sinclair Lewis, Mark Twain, and John Steinbeck. Perhaps you prefer the beautiful rhythmic verses of Longfellow, Poe, Whitman, Milton, Keats, and Byron. If you don’t care to read any leygthy stories, there are numerous magazines with short, brief instructive articles from cover to cover. Life magazine, Reader’s Digest, Coronet, Saturday Evening Post, are just a fettf of them. What would be a better way to spend an hour or two? It would increase your vocabulary, and add much to your knowledge. Have, you ever tried to write a poem or short story? It’s lots of fun.
You aren’t going to be in school forever. Try to cultivate and develop sports that you can pursue after leaving these halls of learning. Golf, tennis, ping pong, " swimming, dancing, will offer untold enjoyment. Join the town basketball, softball, and baseball teams.
These activities will keep you in good physical shape and offer keen competition between you and your friends.
Presumably, the particular job that you have will offer a short vacation. Use this time seeing the beautiful and historical sights of our land. Such panoramic views a3 Niagara Falls, Natural Bridge, Yellow Stone National Park, Grand Canyon, will leave lasting impressions upon your mind.
From the above you can readily see there are many worthwhile and instructive ways to spend your time. Keep active and interested in many of these activities. Happiness and contentment will slip into your life without you knowing it. Then, you will be enjoying life at it’s best!
