'Meeting

Held Thursday

Mrs. C. R. Racer and Miss Ethel Jenkins were joint hostesses to to the Woman’s Society of Christian Service, which met at their home on Thursday evening.

Rev. Norman J. Flythe of Flint Hill, had charge of the program, the topic, “Japan Today and Tomorrow.” The devotional was under the direction of Mrs. Ora Ramey.

An auction sale was held by the sociefty at the conclusion of the social hour.

Ten members were present and three visitors, Mrs. J. W. Critzer, Rev. Norman J. Flythe and Mrs. Virginia Payne.

Fred W. Atkins Enlists

Fred W. Atkins., of Woodville has enlisted in the U. S. Army from the Culpeper recruiting office. He was sent to Fort Dix, N. J., where he will be processed before being sent to a^training area. 7

Pvt. Atkins had prior service, having served two years, part, of which was spent overseas.

Vacancies still exist for the U. S. Army and the Air Force and a recruiting sergeant may be seen each Wednesday in Washington to interview applicants from Rappahannock county.
