The Junior Home Economics students are going to try for a Junior Homemakers’ Degree, by learning the F.H.A. song, creed, motto and purposes. When each student has successfully learned these requirements they will be awarded a key to be attached to the club pin they received last year.

Miss Owen has not been with us for several days on account of sickenss, but we hope to have her back soon. Our classes have been resumed in the cafeteria in an effort to help Mrs. Pullen with the lunch program.

The recipe for the week is:

Budget Hash

1 cup chopped onions

4 tablespoons melted fat

1 lb. chopper beef

1 cup diced peppers

1 cup canned tomatoes

1 teaspoon chili powde r

2 teaspoons salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1 cup grape ntlt flakes

Saute onions and pepper in 2 tablespoons of fat, until lightly brown. Add beef and brown lightly, and mix with pork. Add tomatoes and seasoning. Cook gently 2 or 3 minutes. Cover bottom of greased casserole with flakes then add beef mixture.

Top with remaining flakes and sprinkle with fat. Bake 25 minutes at 375 degrees.
