Sperryville 4-H culb will meet - with Mrs. Lucio Kilby, June 27, at 2 p.m.
Forest Grove 4-H club will meet with Mrs. Clarence Scott, June 28, 1:30 p.m.
Freezing fruits and vegetables, bottoming chairs and stools, and fabric buying and window treatment for the living room were the main interests of the clubs in the county last week.
Sperryville and Amissville home demonstration clubs both chose freezing fruits and vegetables as their demonstration. Mrs. W. H. Lyne had the Sperryville meeting and Mrs. Elmer Jenkins entertained the Amissville club. The home agent gave both of these demonstrations. She showed the group how to freeze spinach, rhubarb, cake, and a pie; also, how to freeze chicken, butter, eggs, cook- ' ed foods, etc., was discussed by the agent.
The Amissville club discussed what they were going to do to help the 4-H club with their bingo party. Each member decided they would bring lemonade and cookies for the 4-H’ers to sell in the food stand. The club, also, is going to help a needy family in the county by giving clothing to them. The Amissville club decided to take “Salad Making” as their demonstration for next month. Sperryville club will take “candy making” as their demonstration.
The new F. T- Valley club met with Mrs. Luther Jenkins Thursday, June 15. The home agent gave the demonstration to .the group on how to bottom a''foot stool. The women caught on beautifully and ended up with five nicely bottomed foot stools. Mrs. Marshall Jenkins, Mrs. Luther Jenkins Jr., Mrs. Irvin Sisk, Mrs. Henry Sisk, and Miss Annie Perry bottomed one stool a-piece. The meeting ended with delicious refreshments.
Mrs. Richard Gore entertained the Estes home demonstration club at her home at Estes. The agent talked about fabrics to buy for the living room and how to' dress up windows with drapes, curtains, cornices, etc. Many samples of materials were shown, dif-t ferent types of curtains and window fixtures wei% shown* The hostess served very delicious refreshments.
