They are^lovely, but that song should not have come to mind. One of these days, it is to be hoped, someone will explain why that particular tune used to be the one selected for sadistic butch, ering by every glee club in every high school graduation program throughout this fair and prosperous land.
I can still hear it. There was always one lusty soprano who sounded as if someone had securely fastened her nose with a clothespin and then jabbed her with a red-hot poker. The tomcat howls from the back fence were melodious in comparison.
There were boys in the glee club, too, but you never heard them. Either they had not learned to control the new adult voices or else they were already cognizant of the fact that, regardless of all
