Jack Payne Win* Reserve
Title In Horse Show
Jack Payne of Gordonsville, son of Mr and Mrs. George Payne of Rappahannock won the reserve title with his horse, Fox, at the \ horse show at Fort Lee Saturday^ June 17.
A picture of Mr. Payne with Fox appeared in the Richmond Times-Dispatch of Monday, June 19, along with a picture of Mrs. Alexander H. Calvert of Warrenton, who is receiving congratulations from Colonel Valerius Hakanson, chairman of the third annual Fort Lee Horse Show committee on the selection of her horse, Goldwick as grand champion. The show attracted a throng cf 13,000 for Saturday’s slate according to the report of the TimesDispatch.
Two White Crows Seen
At Updike Farm
Two white crows (considered to be a rarity) have been seen quite frequently at the John Updike farm near Washington, for the past three weeks. According to reports the white crows have been visiting the Updike family almost daily, as they perch themselves upon the fence near the house.

E\ening services throughout the county at Methodist churches will be held at 8 p.m. Hearing aids have been installed at Sperryville Methodist church for the use of those who wish them.
