News ^ L (Continued from page 1.) • clubs met Monday, June 12. Both clubs are taking clothing as their project. The Reager club met with Mrs. Pearl Mills. Mrs. Lewis Harrison was present and she and Mrs. Pearl Mills, leaders, helped the girls with their dresses. They spent the morning at this meeting. In the afternoon th4 agent worked with the Chester Gap 4-H. This club met with Mrs. Stanley Williams, who with Mrs. Marie Williams showed the girls how to cut out skirts.
Sperryville 4-H club met June 13 with Mrs. Lucio Kilby. Mrs. Kilby is taking over the 4-H club this summer Without the agent present. She is doing a wonderful job. At this meeting she showed the girls how to make three or four substitute dishes, using thin, medium, and thick white sauce bases in these dishes.
The Amissville bingo party was a wonderful success last Saturday night. The club made mote than enough to pay for four members to go to camp. The Amiss\111e people gave wonderful help and co-operation.
Amissville 4-H club met Thursday with Mrs. Katherine Riley. Mrs. Riley and Mrs. Graham Hackley are leaders and are doing excellent work. This meeting had 100% atendance. +, •
Four 4-H members, a leader, « and the home agent plan to attend 4-H State Short Course at Blacksburg next week starting June 26 and ending July 1.
The girls planning to go are Hazel Wines of Chester Gan. Mary Fox and Doris Pritchett of Huntly, Bonnie Gentry of Flint Hill, and Lois Racer of Washing* ton. Mrs. Barbara Gentry, as 4-H leader of Huntly in the winter and ’j Flint Hill in the summer, will represent the county as leader.'. This is the largest group to go to Short Course for some time.
This is a wonderful experience and opportunity for any 4-H’er. These girls will have the honor of meeting many 4-H’ers from all over the state. There will be special interest classes and planoad recreation for all that are present. The Home Agent is so pleased to have such a nice group planning on attending the Short Course this year.
