Amoung fruit growers the interest in new varieties of fruits is perenni&L The high prices at which large numbers of judiciously advertised new varieties are sold each year testifies to this. To be sure many of the new kinds so introduced soo~ drop out of sight after the self-interest of the introducers ceases to keep them before the public. On the other hand, a relatively small proportion find lasting places if usefulness in areas or localities where thleir special adtip ability to local conditions has been proved by test.
