The condition of Mm Betty Jackson, who suffered a heart attack last week, remains quite serious. Mrs. Jackson is at the Baptist Home In Culpeper.
MRS. Z. H. SEALOCK ENTERTAINS BRIDGE CLUB
Mrs. Z. H. Sealock entertained the bridge club and additional guests ft a luncheon at the Lee Highway hotel Saturday at 1:00. Those playing were Mrs. John P. Snead, Mrs. George Taylor, Mrs. Carroll Menefee, Mrs Jaenie Jarvis, Mrs. Helen Kilby, Mr#. Charles Estes, Mrs. Maude Gore, Mrs. Holmes Hall, Mrs. Lewis Turner, Mrs. Ned Jones, Mrs. D. Lyle Miller, Mrs. George Davis, Mrs. Rayner Snead, Mrs. J. H. Aylor, Mrs. Bnicie Bruce, Mrs. D. D. Miller, and Mrs. R. E. Wood. The high score prizes were awarded Mrs. Menefee and Mrs. Lyle Miller and Mrs. Lewis Turner won the traveling prize.
MRS. ATKINS ENTERTAINS
. Mrs. T. F. Atkins entertained at her home “Honey Suckle Glen” on Wednesday, January 10, celebrating Mr. Atkins’ eightieth birthday. Those present were his two sisters Mrs. Annie Woodard and Mrs. George Woodard, his daughter Mrs. E. A. Campbell, and his son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Atkins and their three children Bobby, Hugh and Mary Sue Atkins.
SPERRYVILLE W. S. C. S. HOLD MEETING JANUARY 10
The first meeting for the year of the W. S. C. 8. of Sperryville Methodist church was held Janunary 10 at 7:80 p.m., in the home of Mrs. George Brown. Mrs. Nina Brown, president, conducted the. devotional opening by reading in unison “Master let me walk with Thee” next was call to worship with a responsive reading by Mrs. Nina Brown and Mrs. George Brown, after which a prayer was offered. “A story to tell the Nation,” was read by the group. “Our responsibility toward the giver of all gifts” was the subject of the lesson, based on Matthew 13:44, which dealt with stewardship and tithing was ably presented by Mrs. S. E. Honing, who brought out many worthwhile'points. Mrs. George Brown presented the society with a check for f50.00 a gift from her brother W. W. Sealock in Falls Church. At the conclusion of the meeting refreshments were served by the hostess.
