The collection of new peach varieties at Blacksburg has given more information about the possible value of the material than has the collection of apple varieties. A peach orchard usually has a shorter 'life than bn apple orchard and the planting of a new orchard is somewhat less of a long range investment problem than with apples. Therefore, opionions on the relative values of a new peach may be based on fewer years observation than would be necessary for apples. ■ '
