Beautification Program .
Mr. Rock of the State Highway Department, and in charge of beautification of the State highways, was in Washington Monday, he suggested planting to be around the town marker, and the entrance signs leading into town. Mr. Rock will do all that is possible to see about getting a permit to allow the town to put entrance signs at both entrances into the town. The Courthouse door and the benches -pn the CourtHouse lawn will be painted white by Sherwin-Williams Paint Co.
The Rappahannock Garden Club - Mrs. J. G. Revercomb chairman, will have charge of the Courthouse lawn, for clean-up week. The club hopes to landscape the lawn. It is requested that anyone wishing to donate flowering shrubs or evergreens, please bring them to the Courthouse not later than Monday, April 9. The committee has been offered boxwood and climbing roses so far, and are in hopes of having enough donations before and on the 9th to complete the landscaping. For further information call Mrs. J. The Home Ec girls of the Rappahannock County High School will sponsor a square dance to be given the night of clean-up day, April 13. Everyone cooperating with the 'clean-up program, by improving their property and cleaning their property will be eligible for a free ticket to the dance. The dance will start at 9 p.m. with dancing until 1 a.m. Vance Butler ef Warrenton, anil furnish the music and Mrs. Jessie Cox will be on band to greet the guests, along with the Misses Ruby Jenkins and Beth Owen.
