Point-To-Point Races

After two tgad rainy days, it cleared on Friday evening, with a beautiful wind to dry off the course for the point-to-point races held Saturday on the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Greenaway. Walk* ing around the grounds between the faces we spotted many old acquaintances and many familiarfaces. We saw Col. Rex. Benspn, of the English Army, •who before World War II was one of the top English polo players; Senator Raymond Guest of Bayard was there with his daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Shaw of the Orange Hunt took advantage of the ijeautiful weather to enjoy the races. Over there is Mr. and Mrs. Gene Wood, Hubert Phipps, publisher of the Fau-* quier Democrat and the "Breeder Stockman”; Oh! there’s Col. and Mrs. J. L. B. Bentley, he is one of the judges, along with W. A. Laing. Mr. arid Mrs. Mallory Nash of Warrenton were there, Mr. Nash won the Lawrence cup several weeks ago at the Blue Ridge point-to-point; Miss Dorothy-Mont, gomery, past master of the Casanova Hunt; E. O. Ostsrem of The Plains; Mrs. Lee Henry Atherton, of Warrenton; also Mrs. William Rochester and Mr. and Mrs. King Stone of Warrenton were spotted on the hill. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Arundel were there, Mr. Arundel is master of the Warrenton Hunt; also Alvin Baird, MFH, Mr. Baird is past master of the Cobber Hunt, most everyone was there from far and near. Starting down the hill, we spotted Mrs. Gordon Douglas, from over near -The Plains; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Dennis, up from Warrenton, Mr. Dennis will be remembered as the author of Ar
