Applicants Coming In

•For Talent Broadcast

The county-wide Talent Broadcast program will be at Rappahannock High School, Washington, on April 28, Friday. The list of local talent is growing, and it is hoped the applications Will continue to roll in. Everyone in-the county is invited to be on the program.

/Tom Massie will give “The Village Blacksmith” new weight.

Those fast, fascinating RedOak Rascals will stir us all with song.

And Mrs. Jessie H. Cox iwill produce a very entertaining and delightful dramatic presentation.

Remember, this is going to be a big event—with a big program— for a great cause: the American Cancer Society. •

Teachers' Reading Course

Examination April 21

Supt. Q. D. Casque has announced that the State Board of Education has fixed Saturday, April 21, 1951 as the dateon which Hie Teachers’ Reading Course examination for the renewal of certificates shall be offered. This examination for Warren and Rappahannock county teachers will be held in the office of Supt. Q. D. Gafeque, in the Warren County Court House, Front Royal, Beginning at 9dM> a.m. This is the only examination to be given this year.

The Teachers’ Reading Course examination for both high and elementary school. teachers will be based on the following books: Democratic Teaching in Secondary Schools, Toward Better Teaching, My Three Years in Moscow, and The Autobiography of Will Rogers.
