ANNIVERSARY SERVICES AT HOPEWELL CHURCH

Services will 'be held at Hopewell church Sunday April 22 commemorating the 77th anniversary of the church and the 12th of the pastor, Rev. L. M. Carroll.

10:00 a.m.—Sunday School will be opened by the Superintendent. Lesson taught by president of Sunday School Union, Bro. P. S. Green. 11:00 a.m.—'Devotion by church. Scripture by pastor; Prayer by visiting officer; music by Hopewell choir; History of the church and pastor, toy Bro. C. C. Lewis; Song by choir; Sermon by pastor; 3 Collection, Dues, Special Gift Envelopes; Recess; Lunch.

3:30 p.m. Scripture by pastor; Music by First Baptist church choir, Washington; Anniversary sermon of church and pastor by Rev. R. C. Davis; Collection by First Baptist church officers; Receiving of gift Envelopes and Gifts by Committee—Mrs. Fannie Jackson, chairman; Mrs. Pauline Williams, Mrs. Mary Eller Fryer, Bro. MRS. ANNIE RUSSELL HARRIS

'Mrs. Annie Russel Harris died Wednesday, April 11, at the age of 38, at Providence hospital in Washington, D.C., she was the wife of John E. Harris. Mrs. Harris is survived toy her husband and mother and father Mr. and Mrs. Robert Russel; four children, also survive, John, Claude, James and Gloria; one brother, James D. Russell of Washington, D.C.; several aunts and uncles and a great many cousins.

Mrs. Harris was a life-long member of Hopewell Bap tist church. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. L. M. Carroll and Rev. O. D. Jackson at the Hopewell church. Active pallbearers were Roberts Banks, Edward Jordan, Joe Andes, Harry Starks, George Ayior and Howard Butler.

A play, “Fairies Are Really Truly’’ will be given at the Flint Hill school Friday, Aprit 20, at 8 p.m.
