Mr** James R. Tanner
Mrs. Nannie Mitchell Tanner died at her residence near Etlan, Madison county, April 12. Mrs. Tanner was a native of Madison, daughter of the late Albert Mitcnell and Mrs. Carolina Hitt Mitchell. Mrs. Tanner was 83 years old at the time of her death, which came after a period of declining health over the last ten years of her lifetime.
Survivors include two children by her first marriage to the late Robert Henry Dulaney; namely, a daughter, Mrs. Lula Coates of Etlan, and a son, Robert H. Dulaney of Flint Hill; two children of her second marriage to James Robert Tahner'~who died two years ago; namely, a daughter, Miss Ouida Tanner of Etlan, and a son, Kenneth E. Tanner of Slate Mills. There are also ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Paul Thompson, and Rev. James L. Clements from Etlan Methodist church, on Saturday afternoon, April 14, at 2 o’clock. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Sering as pallbearers were Tom Utz, 01 n e y Mitchell, Thurman Mitchell, Macol Mitchell, Richard Compton, Frank Mitchell, Fred Mitchell, and Leslie Dulaney.
