It depends upon what newspaper yon read was one ef the bits hurled ot the complaining crusader. There are the sensational scandal-sheets—a few—but the papers of America, as a rule, are clean, and they are interested in the community in which they are located. More often than not, they pot forth every effort for the good of the community, and they art inclined — partially through civic pride and partially through consideration of the families of criminals—to overlook and play down, rather than play up, any crime in their localities. They often “kill” a good story, because, as they word it, H will do more harm than good to print it.
