For these reasons, say home demonstration specialists at VPI, a convenient kitchen should have a high priority in home improvement plans.

Here are a few suggestions: Casseroles, saucepans, seasoning, and other items used first at the range should be stored near the range.

Supplies end utensils used for * water should be placed near the sink.

Glass and china used to serve " food should be near the range to make food service easier.

Heavy items which are used frequently should be located as near the counter level as possible. Lighter items can be placed above or below the counter level. Fresh fruit and vegetables should be stored as near the sink as possible. Perishables should be stored in the refrigerator.

Items of the same size and shape can be stacked. Items of graded size such as mixing bowls should not be stacked.
