Selective Service regulations state as follows: “If a registrant or a person required to present himself for snd submit to regiertation foils to perform any duty prescribed by the Selective Service law, or directions given pursuant thereto, within the required time, he shall be liable to fine and imprisonment under Section 12 of the Selective Service Act of 1948.’* This section of the law prescribes punishment, “ .-. . by imprisonment for not more than live years or a fine of not more than flO,000.00 or both fine and imprisonment . . . **
Unless the registrant immediately presents convincing evidence to his local hoard which will enable it to relieve him of the charge, the local board is required by law to order the registrant for induction. If he does not report for induction in accordance with his induction order, the local board is again required by law to report the registrant to the United States Attorney.
