In the afternoon session Mrs. .Kistner took up color in flower arrangements. She made many beautiful flower arrangements in color and showed the art of color harmony and which colors are most complimentary to each other.
Of especial interest to the ones attending the lectures was the fact that Mrs. Kistner is author of the book Flower Arrangement For The American Home, which most of them had read. Mrs. Kistner has made seven lectures in London and has had ted in the palace with Queen Elizabeth, “also she has arranged flowers for the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. When Princess Elizabeth iwas marired the flower containers were sent to America from the palace in London, flowers were arranged in them by Mrs. Kistner .and flown baek to London for the Royal wedding. Mrs. Kistner said the most fun she had was arranging the flowers in the entire suite at the Waldorf Astoria for Gen. and Mrs. MacArthur when they arrived in New York.
It was a wonderful day and everyone came away feeling that the time iwas well spent.

14,000 Tree Seedlings
Planted In Rappahannock
The Virginia Forest Service recently closed the 1951 spring reforestation season by announcing that more than 4,250,000 forest tree seedlings have been planted in Virginia since last fall. Althou this shows a slight increase over the number of seedlings planted last year, it does not show" the great interest being demonstrated by landowners in replanting their idle acres with forest tree seedlings. Due to an unequaled demand for this forest tree planting stock, the two State nurseries^Were unable to fill many requests.

AUj landowners who wish to ordhr^eedlings for the next fall or spring planting seasons are urged to do so now. By getting your application in now you will be sure to get your seedlings. The main species available will be loblolly pine, sbortleaf pine, white pine, yellow poplar, black locust and black walnut.
