(1) A wife gets monthly benefits if her husband is receiving benefits if she is 95 or over, or at any age if she and her husband have a child under 18 who is entitled to benefits. (2) A widow get* monthly benefits if her husband was injured at death if there are one or more dependent unmarried children, stepchildren or adopted children under 18. The children also receive benefits. If there were no children entitled to benefits, the widow would get monthly payments if 65 or over. (3) A mother, or parent, 66 or over can receive monthly benefits if her son or daughter, at death, was fully insured and was not survived by a widow, child, or widower, rwho rould become entitled to benefitsThe mother or parent would have to have been dependent for at least half of her support from the deceased child.

The most of the money being paid to beneficiaries under the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance program goes to wives, widows 65 and over, and young widows with children.
