Council Asks Citizens
Attend Budget Meeting
The ladies of the town council of Washington, in meeting Tuesday evening, May 8, suggested that the June meeting be set aside for citizens to attend for a study of the budget. When needs are stated, it can then be found if present funds are adequate or whether it will be necessary to impose a tax to meet the. needs requested by the citizens.
The ordinance regarding hog pens was amended by the ladies of the council. The ordinance reads that no citizen may have hog pens closer than 200 feet to any street, and the amendment passed now states that .any hog pen within the corporate limits, regardless of its location, must pass inspection of the county sanitation officer at regular intervals.
Reports of the committees stated that the benches for the town would be purchased in the near future.
