Settle Resigns;
Clerk For 40 Years
James M. Settle of Flint Hill has tendered his resignation as Clerk of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock, effective Decem’tier 81, 1962, after 40 years of faithful service in this office.. , Mr. Settle was first appointed Clerk by Judge George Latham Fletcher to fill the unexpired term of William Armstrong upon his retirement in 1922. Since his appointment Mr. Settle has been elected to the office every term without opposition.
Miss Ruth Stevens, Flint Hill, is deputy Clerk and has held this position since April 16, 1935.
Mrs. Eva Smith, of Flint Hill, also is employed in this office.
