CONVULSIONS Children’s convulsions frighten parents as much as almost anything which can happen. In the majority of childhood cases, however, the cause is quite simple and can be remedied easily- ily• A convulsion is often accompanied by a stiffening of the body and unconsciousness. There is muscle twitching, sometimes violent, with arm, leg, and neck muscles moving jerkily. The jaw moves and tends to chew, causing a danger tb the tongue. The eyes roll back in the head and saliva flows from the mouth. There are the result of motor muscle activity and not a sign of anything more. In themselves, they are nothing to worry about.
