Hoppers, Sundowners At Christmas Parade and
Festival at Front Royal
Otie Kibler, popular entertainment chairman for Front Royal’s 1962 Christmas Parade and Festival, announced last night that the famous Hick's Hoppers known for their intricate and colorful square dancing will appear following the annual Christmas Parade the night of November 30 in Front Royal. The Hoppers, who have made many personal appearance including a featured spot in the Apple Blossom Festival Pageant, will perform following the Christmas Parade on the Square at East Main Street and Chester Street.
Mr. Kilber also stated that Mateer Grove and the Sundown Hillbillies, known in Northern Virginia for many years as exponents of country, western, and folk music, will appear on the Square for entertainment and square dancing the same evening.
Mr. Kilber stated that a surprise is in store for all of us, and that it will take place in front of the Court House following the Christmas Parade. Combined with the bands, floats, and novelty units of the *BjSrade, November 30 should be an evening long remembered in Front Royal. The annual Christmas Parade and Festival is sponsored by the Retail Division of the Chamber of Commerce of Front Royal and Warren Co.
