Last week's prices were about 4 cents above the same period last year. ^
Prices in Virginia last week were from 16% to 17 cents; Del, MarVa, 16 to 17.6 cents; Georgia 15 cents; and North Carolina 15.

Look for Virginia egg prices to increase during the next couple of weeks.
Price of mediums should lead the way, with Grade A large following suit. Last week the price gap between large and medium was about 13 cents and even wider in some retail stores.
The number of layers is about the same, but increased rate of lay should give a slight increase in total egg production.
Virginia Grade A large eggs hit a priee peak of mostly 48% cents during mid-September. Since that time prices have dropped, and indications are that they will not recover to this peak. '
Last week's prices in Virginia were, Grade A large 3914 to 41%, Mediums, 26 to 28; New York large whites, 41H to 44 cents. '
