Jesse Lee Ward

Jesse Lee Ward of Echo Hill Farm, Washington, Virginia and 1940 Biltmore St., N. W., Washington, D. C. was killed instantly in an automobile accident near Washington, Virginia on Saturday, November 3.

Mr. Ward, a native of Mississippi was a lawyer and court reporter until he went to Washington, D. C., as secretary to a Mississippi congressman. I n 1933 he founded the firm of Ward & Paul, Inc., a shorthand reporting firm in which he was active at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife Sarah Helen Zabawa Ward, one son, Jesse Lee Ward, Jr. and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Calvary Baptist Church, Washington, D. C. on Tuesday, November 6, also in Meridian, Mississippi on November 7 with interment in Enterprise, Mississippi, which was his birthplace.
