County Aaent The Rappahannock Hunt has ' agreed to sponsor the 4*H Light Horse and Pony Project in this 1 county. Mrs. Joyce DeBergh of . Washington and Mr. Brooks Mims of Front Royal have volunteered to instruct in En-:j glish and Western styles of rid. i ing respectively. ? Parents of all 4-H members, 1 or prospective members, who f own, or have access to, a riding » horse or pony, are invited to bring their offspring to a meet- j ing scheduled for 7:30 P. M.J | Friday, November 9th at the| Court House in Washington. \
At this tiihe a discussion will j be held on requirements of the 4-H member, necessary cooper-, ation of parents, and a genera! j outline of the project. Pending^, interest and co-operative ati- * tude shown by those attending, this initial meeting, detailed ; plans will be drawn at a later date for: instruction in equita- | tion, feeding and grooming,'] care of equipment, nomen-| clature of the horse, etc.
Other counties, conducting J the project have also held spe- l cial events such as; shows,! trail rides, Junior Hunts, etc.
Presently the Culpeper group ■ is planning a big 4-H Horse and j Pony Show in the spring. Also
Culpeper has special classes for j enrollees during the Farm Show ’ which members of the county ■ clubs are eligible to participate in* : {
