Mr. C. E. Marsh, the next owner, built an addition larger than the original house and added a wing where there had been a porch for an office. He also was responsible for extensive landscaping which included a formal garden with a boxwood bordered walk leading to an artificial pond stocked with fish. -4 The Public Walfare Foundation, a philanthropic'organization created by Mr. Marsh was administered from Jessamine Hill until it was moved to Washington, D. C. several years ago. The Lindgrens will operate a general stock farm with a commercial herd of Angus cattle, a pure-bred herd, sheep and hogs. Mr. David Sanford Evans is to be in charge of all farm operations which include a stable of racing and show horses. Both Mrs. Lindgren and Mr. Evans are accomplished equestrians and will ride • with the Rappahannock Hunt.
