The thoughts and actions of everyone now center entirely around Christmas and the approaching holiday.
The best story, a true one, that I have heard recently concerns a little boy from Sperryville. His mother asked him what he wanted Santa to bring him. He replied, “I can’t tell you because it is supposed to be a surprise.” . Well, to -say the least, mamnta was a bit taken aback, so she put a piece of paper in the typewriter and told him to sit down and write Santa a letter and tell him what he wanted. The little fellow pecked aimlessly around on the typewriter and announced he had finished his letter. "Now,” said his mother, “you read it to me.-”
Said he, “You know I can’t read, you’ll have to read it."
Finally, the little fellow disclosed his secret Christmas wishes at Sunday school and mamma heard the conversation, so all is well.
