|^e Controversial Deer Rifle The deer is a relative newcomer to _ much of the Old Dominion—and his coming has brought into common use the deer rifle, the most’ effective firearm for hunting him. Most Virginians have grown up with the Shotgun, known it since childhood, learned to use and trust it, and to accept its place in: * corner of their homes. There are shotgun accidents every year—many of them fatal, but they also are accepted and shrugged off. But let us have a rifle accident and die sky falls in.
