On the other hand the slug so often used in the trusted shotgun does not have this mushrooming feature and will plow through the brush for 100 yards or more. In irresponsible hands the rifle is of course dangerous. But so is the shotgun, automobile, rowboat, power saw, farm tractor and the family carving knife. Every year shotgun accidents far exceed rifle accidents. And highway travel to and from a hunting area is probably more dangerous than the actual hunting.
When the violation of a right is threatened its common practice to look to our long cherished Bill of Rights to see what our forefathers had to say. The second amendment to that document states: “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." By contrast when a dictator takes over a country, usually one of his first moves is to take all guns away from the citizens. The rifle, not the shotgun, won this country and if it ever becomes necessary to defend our shores the rifle will again play a major role. We should know how to use it. Banning the rifle is not the answer to firearms accidents. The answer lies in the proper education of people who handle all types of firearms. How often do you hear of our well trained state troopers being accidently shot? And these people handle guns daily--not just on weekends. The proper people to get behind such a project are the people who own and love guns--the sportmen of the state.

Nativity scenes are so popular in Spain that vendors set up stands before the holiday to offer colorful clay, wood and cardboard figures which are arranged into Nativity scenes, known locally as “Belenes” or “Nacimientos.”
