Hill with their three children and are working like mad to have a real old fashion' Christmas. The Moseley’s, Graham and Katherine, are spending as much time as they can at their mountain place. We received such a nice letter of their comings and goings with their Christmas card. Arthur and 1 feel as they do that our grandchildren should have their Christmas In their very own home - so - they are off to Florida and we are off for 1 Latham, New York. All erf our boys and girls are coming home from college. The Ski Club is In full swing - with skiers arriving from everywhere. I believe they had 12 or IS inches of snow they made this past week-end.

I’m writing this in the “NEWS* office and it really seems like old times - Nancy Latham is trying her best to. read Bill LyneB writing - Ruth has been talking to Lou Emma Moffett, Maise Campbell, Ruth Cook and othersI really miss talking to the folks around and about on Mondays and Tuesdays myself.

Jimmie Settle Is feeling better and enjoys so much seeing his friends. Mrs. Verner spent several days with Dutch and Mary Updike recently - she is just fine - we certainly do miss not having her here in Washington,

Havanna Jeffries had a tenrible fire at her home Saturday evening. I understand there was considerable damage done - all three fire companies were called, Flint Hill, Washington and Sperryville. They did a wonderful job but it was a terrible fire. The old garage in back of Trinity Church is just about gone. Mr. Merrill is moving the front part of the building this morning - he will put in back of his garage. It will be nice to be able to watch the traffic going by while
