sum ! The annual camiV^al of the Castleton Community Vol, Fire Co. opened:Wednesday, July 10th, and will; continue through Saturdays July 13th. As usual, the Castleton Fire Co. will feature a drawing of ten wonderful prizes to Include a Motor Scooter, Garden Tiller, Bike;' Polaroid Camera, T. V,',i Typewriter, Electric Shavers (his and hers). Transistor Radio, and Ten silver dollars. In addition to these prizes which will be drawn Saturday nighty there will be an additional door prize drawing each other night. Many View Fireworks At Avon Hall
Avon Hall, home of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Carriganin Washington was the background the night of July 4th for an unusual luminari display, covering the front grounds and featuring a huge star which attracted the admiring attention of many local people and visitors to the county. This was in addition to the setting off of spectacular fireworks for a gala Independence Day celebration.
Preceding the fireworks, Mr. and Mrs. Carrigan entertained over forty guests at a buffet supper. Among the guests were Mr. Theodore Hornaday, Director of Recreational Program for the National Forestry Service, and Mrs. Hornaday, Mrs. Evelyn Jagoe, the Misses Bell, Mrs. Catherine Strong, ; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Camslllo, Mrs. Sue Swann, all of Washington, D. C., Richard Purcell, New York attorney, and his mother Mrs. Clara Purcell and Father John T. Cillnski of St. John's Church in Front Royal.
