By W. H. Lyne Roy Heltzel, County Agent of Culpeper, advises his Feeder Calf Association will sponsor a Yearling Sale for the first time on October 7th. Regulations and nomination blanks are available at this office. All entries must be made by August 15th.
Nominations for the Madison Yearling Sale, reported on last week, must be in by Monday, July 22nd.
Sixteen percent of Rappahannock sheep flocks were found to be infested with lice during the scabies eradication program. Now when sheep have light fleeces, less material will be necessary for either spraying or dipping.
Last week Rodes Brown represented Rappahannock Angus Breeders on a feeder calf sales promotional trip into Maryland and Pennsylvania with Allen Randolph of the Virginia Beef Cattle Producers Association. Mr. Brown reported our sale buyers visited were well pleased with their performance. Mr. Randolph dubbed Mr. Brown as the "Raconteur of Rappahannock!" Messrs. Gander of Page and McDonald of Frederick also accompanied Mr. Randolph.
