There is also limited camping available in the recreational areas at Holliday Lake, Bear Creek Lake and Goodwyn Lake. ~ All camping areas are equipped with central washrooms, showers, laundry ai\<r sanitary facilities, tested drinking water, garbage disposal cans and outdoor fireplaces. Fire wood can be purchased from the Concessionaire, but the true camper may prefer to take his ax and collect it for free from dead and fallen timber in the1 park forests. The camping fee is $1.50 per day and sites are assigned on first come, first served basis. Camping space seems to be adequate for the present however, and usually no difficulty is experienced in securing a site. Next week we will discuss some of the fishing in and adjacent to our state parks.
Muskies in Gaston Lake 2O,Od0 acre Gaston Reservolr located on the Roanoke River near Emporia, recently received a stocking of 40,000 muskie fry. Fish Division Chief Bob Martin reports that the fish were obtained from the Pennsylvania Fish Commission and flown to the new lake in plastic bags. They join the pike stocked there earlier in the year. There is just an outside chance that these north-' ern fish will reproduce, but whether they do or not some lucky fisherman is going to make history by becoming the first angler to land a musky in OldDomlnlon waters.
