interested in the collection of letters, legal documents, papers, handbills, books, etc. loaned for the exhibition, pertaining to the early activities of this county. Maps of the County, several of them copies of originals from the National Archives, the Library of Congress and the University of Virginia Library decorated the walls and made an excellent study of the growth and development of the area from its beginnings under Lord Fairfax, up through the War and present day maps. A highlight of the exhibition was a large color aerial drawing of the Battle of Gettysburg made shortly after the Battle just a hundred years ago to the day, and signed as substantially correct by Gen. Meade and Gen. Lee as well as by many other officers of North and South. It was loaned by one of the Trustees of the Library. Comments made by both residents of the county and visitors were most encouraging to the Staff who assembled and manned the exhibition.
