At the same time, very little broiler exports to the Common Market are expected. In Virginia, however, broiler supplies during July are expected to be down - about 4 per cent below the same time last year. Lower egg prices may be expected in Virginia this week. This may be shortlived, however, and a gradual but steady increase in egg prices should follow. Prices should continue to follow the usual seasonal pattern of v increase. Last year egg prices in Virginia improved on into December Dried eggs are still being purchased by the government and this of course helps to remove surplus eggs from the market. As egg prices become more favorable, the government may withdraw these purchases. This may temporarily slow down a trend toward price increases.
