the latter stages of completion. For the first time Since its formation, the carnival will be held on Fire Co. ground. The Ladies Auxiliary will attend a food stand in the Fire House and feature a box lunch Friday night and sandwiches, coffee, etc. cm the other nights. John Rogers of Radio Station WCVA, Culpeper, Va., will crown the carnival queen on Friday night. A presentation of gifts will be made to her and the other candidates by the Ladies Auxiliary. Assisting them will be last years Queen, Nancy Stringfellow of Boston, Va. The Fire Co. is looking forward to welcoming all erf its many friends and contributors so they may express their thanks for making the Fire House a reality. All of the proceeds from this year's carnival will be used to further its completion.
JULY MEETING
OF SUPERVISORS
All members were present at the regular July meeting of the Board of Supervisors when they met last Wednesday, at which time Miss Eva Minnix, District Home Agent, appeared before the Board and recommended Miss Harriet Goode as Home Agent for Rappahannock County to replace Mrs. Curtis Absher, nee Miss Barbara Jones, who resigned the post recently. Miss Goode will be available for duty here on August 1.
The Board approved the employment of Miss Goode effective that date with all members voting for this ex* cept A. H. Buckner, Jr, who went on record as being opposed to the county continuing these services. Joseph R. Brannon, agent for B. & B. Services and Supplies, appeared to discuss with the Supervisors a maintenance contract on
