Parade Judges were Mrs. Alma Hottle, Col. E. A. McNear and Lt. Col. John Carney. In the Friday night exhibition of skydiving, Parachutist Glen Sprument won the $25.00 prize for landing closest to a cross marked on the field. Other jumpers were Best, Critzer, Miss Santos, Roach, Devers, Albright, Mahoney, Paul, Hall, Jay and Clark. The last jumper, Clark, hit a wire when landing but no damage resulted. The final jump scheduled was canceled due to darkness. Supper was served to the jumpers by the Ladies Auxiliary.
On Saturday night the Ford Fairlane Car was awarded to Reid Payne of Washington; the pony went to Mr. Keller in Manassas and the $25.00 Savings Bond to Roy Atkins, Jr. of Sperryville. Mrs. Wade H. Massie, Jr. got the woolen afghan. Edward M. Clark, Parade Chairman, wishes to thank Mr. and Mrs, George Davis, Jr., who were hosts to out of town guests before the parade, Mrs. Henry M. Keyser for Publicity, Miss Ruby Jenkins, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Louckes and all others who'helped make* the parade and carnival a success. He expressed appreciation for the many entries that participated in the parade. The Washington Ladies Auxiliary wishes to thank all persons who contributed money, food, time and all other efforts toward making their recent Carnival a success. Donors of food who have not collected their dishes may pick them up at the home of Mrs. Bertha Armel.
