During 1963, 4,300,000 persons were Injured in home accidents, an increase of six per cent over the previous year. Some 110,000 of the injuries resulted in permanent impairment.

To reduce the chances ot such accidents occurring, the ACSC recommends that home owners pay particular attention to keeping backyards free of clutter. Hoses, rakes, ladders and other household paraphernalia ^should be properly stowed away when not in use, rather than left lying carelessly around where people can trip over them.
