Three Scouts of Troop #64 Washington, Va. received Eagle Scout awards at a Court of Honor held Sunday, June 28 in Washington Baptist Chureh at 7 p.m. They are Page Moffett, son of Mr. andMrs. W.F. Moffett, Jr.; David Palmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Palmer and Jimmy Jenkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Jenkins. Mothers of each of the boys pinned their sons. There are 7 Eagle Scouts in Rappahannock County at present which is a greatpereent when you realize only 1 Scout out of 3 thousand attain this. Other awards presented were Life Scout Award to Ned Moffett Jones, son of Mr.andMrs. E. M. Jones and Tenderfoot Badge to Danny Hitt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd B. Hitt. Judge R. V. Snead addressed the scouts and charged them with their responsibility as Eagle Scouts. Mr. Snead was scoutmaster of this troop when these young men first Joined the troop. Chief Scout Executive of Sheivandoah Area Council, Mr.Vernon LaBarre, read a letter from the Chief Scout Executive of the United States expressing his delight in the boys attaining this height in scouting.
Mr. Ray Garrabrant of. Winchester, who had been a member of the Reviewing Board before which the boys had appeared several weeks ago for final testing, made an address to all of the scouts present.
