Pvt. Glenn L. Cave recently spent a 10-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Cave of near Sperryville. Pvt. Cave took his basic training at Fort Gordon, Ga. and is presently stationed with the First Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kan. He is taking mechanics training there.
Marine Private Ennis A. Norman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton D. Norman of Woodville graduated June 4 from recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. The training included drill, bayonet training, physical fitness, parades and cererhonies and other military subjects. Three weeks were spent on the rifle range firing the M14 rifle and other .infantry weapons. Recruit training prepares Marines for further specialized training in a service school or with a unit of the Fleet Marine Force. He will report to Camp Lejeune, N.C., for combat infantry training.
