Five Rappahannock 4-H’ers and thgee agents attended the 41st annual State 4-H Short Course held at V. P. I. in Blacksburg last week. Alletta Beebe, Gloria Durden, Sandra Foster, Earl Yancey, and Harold Walker attended the mee£ accompanied by Mr. Arils Fr£ myer, Miss Doris Daugherty and Miss Harriet Goode, Rap pahannock Extension Agents. During the week, the 1057 4-H’ers attending competed in judging contests, demonstrations, talent and achievement records. Many Virginia 4-H’ers received the coveted trip to National 4-H Congress in Chicago. Others received saving bonds, portable radios sets of silver, and certificates of honor. During the morning sessions the 4-H'ers attended classes. Evening programs emphasized the theme for the week “Young Citizens in Action."
