Burned Out
On the cold, cloudy, threatening afternoon of Monday, February 1, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. Jenkins in Jenkins Hollow near Sperry ville was completely destroyed by fire. Nothing was saved and the family, consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins and two daughters aged 3 and 7 have only the clothes they are wearing. They are presently staying with Mr. Jenkins’ parents Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Boot Jenkins. Anyone wishing to contribute anything to this family such as clothing, furniture or cash may do so as follows; Mrs. James B. Perkins will pick up clothing, if notified. The Sperryville Fire Company may be called for gifts of furniture or kitchen ware and cash contributions may be left with Mr. C. J. Miller at the Rappahannock National Bank.
