Sponsor ‘RD Alert’
Twenty-one Tuberculosis Associations and eight Pharmaceutical Associations in Virginia are sponsoring an educational campaign during February called “RD Alert”. Thirty-nine of the 40 drug stores are taking part in this area in making RD month a big one. Leaflets are being distributed by pharmacists and their clerks to alert the public to the fact that Chronic Cough and Shortness of breath are two early signs of respiratory diseases.
“Unusual shortness of breath is a sign that something may be wrong with your lungs^or maybe your heart. Shortness of breath after little or no exertion may mean bronchitis ... asthma... emphysema... heart disease.. .or other serious disorders.” “Chronic cough could be something minor.
