Lee Thornton, 3rd who is a student at VPI spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thornton, Jr. Elder and Mrs. Hollie Redmond who were enroute to their home in Front Royal after a weekend in Richmond were callers of Mrs. J. Harvey Daily on Sunday night. H. H. Aylor has returned to his home in town after being a patient in the University of Virginia Hospital. Buddy Aylor of Arlington spent the weekend at the home of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown visited Jock Brown Sunday who was confined to his home in Woodville by illness.

The Washington Bridge Club was entertained Thursday evening by Mrs. L. J. Turner at her home on Mt. Salem Avenue with all members present. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., Mrs. Charles B. Palmer, Mrs. Henry M. Keyser and Mrs. D. D. Miller.
