The annual Rappahannock Hunt Point-to-Point races are scheduled to be held Saturday, March 6, 1965 at Thornton Hill Farm, two miles south of Sperryville on Route 522. The first race begins at 12;30p.m. The rolling terrain provides spectators a good view of the entire course of approximately 3 miles with its low timber jump. Fight1races are scheduled.
Heading the card is the Pair Race for horses regularly hunt ed during the current season. Riders must be in hinting attire. A trophy will be award[ ed the winning team.
The QuartejpVHorse race is second. This Tfc run on the flat, a distance of a quarter mile.
For juniors under 18 is the W. A. I aing Memorial, the third race. This is a halfmile flat race. The fourth race, the Mount Salem, is for ladies and is run over a three mile timber
i Cassie Coates Has Skiing Accident
Cassie Coates, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Coate^ Sperryv ille, broke her leg Sunday while skiing. She was taken to University of VirginiaHospital for treatment and returned home. Cassie is recovering satisfactorily, and was able to return to school on [crutches Wednesday. Guess it is a good thing Cassie’s grand 'father is a doctor (Dr. J. P. Snead) for this is the third I broken bone she has had in her nine years.
