District, Take Note!
A special meeting of the citizens of Hampton District, residents, as well as members of the Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Squad is called for 7 p.m. Monday, February 15, at the Fire Hall in Washington. This is to discuss the future of both units.
What is a Company? It is a body of persons associated together. To be a company,one must work together. A company needs support, both financial and spiritual from one another. Your Fire Company is not getting that support. Efforts by certain groups to raise money have not been supported. Meetings called to discuss the affairs of the company have not been attended. Yet no one needs to be reminded that in case of fire or emergency one EXPECTS the aid of the fire company or ambulance. . The question is. will it always be there to come toyour aid? Not without some active^ and real support for its needs.“
