Children’s Party for
Heart Surg. Patients
The Second Annual “Cinderella" Children’s Party for Virginia Children between three and twelve who have recovered from heart surgery will be held at 2;30 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 1965 in Thalhimer’s Auditorium in Richmond, The Children’s Party is sponsored by the Virginia Heart Association, with the cooperation of Thalhimers and other community groups. Invitations have been mailed according to James H. Stone Heart Association Executive Director, to approximately 175 children throughout the State who fall into the above age group. Most of the children^ names were supplied by Virginia heart surgeons and the Bureau for Crippled Children of the State Health Department. Qualified children whose names are unknown to Virginia Heart Association may obtain invitations to the party by contacting the associa tion at 812 West Franklin St. Richmond.
Cdleste Holm, Stage and Screen Star and Winner of the Oscar Award for her performance in the film “Gentle men’s Agreement", will be special guest for the event. Miss Holm will also play the part of the “Fairy Godmother in the Rodgers and Hammerstein “Cinderella" special Monday, Feb. 22, in color on CBS-TV (8:30 - 10;00 p.m. EST). Local groups assisting with the party are; The Junior League of Richmond, who will present their marrionette show “Rumpelstilskin"; A magic act by “Delmini the Magician" who is Mr. Elmer Deffenbaugh, a local Pharmacist and member of the Magician’s Guild of Richmond; “Clowns" of the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad Clown Brigade; Hostesses from the Richmond Legal Secretaries Association, and photographs by the Camera Club of Richmond.
