Ernest C. Updike

Ernest Clinton Updike, 68, of Washington, Va. died Wednesday, February 3, 1965 at his home.

Son of the late John Henry Updike and the late Annie Kibler, and a native of Rappahannock County, he was the husband of the late Edith Jenkins of Updike. He is survived by one son, Billie David Updike of Washington; three daughters, Mrs.

[Cornelius Fincham, Mrs. Rob ^ert Fincham and Miss Cordie

JUpdike, all of Washington; six I brothers Roland Updike of [Culpeper, Byrd, Gilbert and John Updike, all of Washington A.P. Updike of Washington, D.C. and Lewis Updike of Front Royal; one sister, Mrs. Cary Fox of Brandy Station and four grandchildren. A graveside funeral service was held Friday, at the Washington Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. Arnold Sorrells officiating.

Pallbearers were M. G. Watts, C. E. Giles, Lester Burke, James Fincham, Clarence Baldwin and W. Arthur Miller.
